Ordering before measurements are final

Ordering from approximate or preliminary measurements leads to wrong size, reprints, or unusable product.

In this guide

Print is produced to the dimensions you specify. If those dimensions change after the order is placed—because the install space was not final or the sign location changed—the product may not fit.

Why it happens

Pressure to lock a quote or meet a date can lead to ordering before the site is measured or the design is finalized. Once we cut or print to a size, changing it usually means a new job and a new charge.

Consequences

Wrong size can mean unusable product, rework, or a full reprint. For large-format or installed work, the cost of a wrong size is high. For small-format, it is still wasted time and money.

Before you order

• Confirm final dimensions at the install or use location.

• Lock the design and size before requesting the quote.

• If the space might change, say so—we can sometimes build in flexibility.

Common mistake

Ordering from "about 24 inches" or "same as last time" without verifying. Last time may have been wrong; approximate sizes are not production specs.

How we do it at Print Wave

We quote and produce to the dimensions you give us. If you are unsure, we can hold the order until measurements are final. We do not guess at size to hit a date.
