The right print product depends on where it will live, how long it needs to last, and what you are willing to spend. Choosing by price alone often leads to rework or replacement.
Environment and lifespan
Indoor, short-term items (event signage, one-off handouts) do not need the same substrate or finish as outdoor or long-term pieces. Specify expected lifespan and conditions so your printer can recommend accordingly.
Quantity and use pattern
One-off and low-quantity jobs cost more per unit; reorders and programs spread setup cost. If you will reorder, say so—it can affect material and format choices.
Before you specify a product
• Where will it be used (indoor, outdoor, vehicle, hand)?
• How long must it last (days, months, years)?
• Will you reorder the same item?
Common mistake
Picking a product by name or habit without stating the use case. "We always use X" may not fit this job. Describe the application and let the printer recommend.
