Most print problems come from a short list of causes: wrong file, wrong specs, or wrong expectations. Fix these and you avoid most reprints and surprises.

Wrong or incomplete files

Sending a low-res file, a draft, or a format we cannot use forces a stop. We have to ask for a new file, and the clock resets. Send final, print-ready files from the start.

Missing or unclear specs

Quantity, size, material, and finish must be agreed before production. "Same as last time" only works if we have a record; otherwise spell it out. Changes after the job is running can mean rework or reprint.

Font and color issues

Missing fonts and RGB-only files cause substitution and color shift. Outline fonts and work in CMYK (or convert and approve) so what we print matches what you expect.

Before every job

• Final file, correct format, fonts outlined or embedded, CMYK.

• Confirmed quantity, size, material, finish, and delivery date.

• Proof reviewed and approved; no "we thought it would look different."

Common mistake

Approving a proof without reading it or checking the specs. Once you approve, we run. Catching a typo or wrong size after the job is done is the most avoidable reason for a reprint.

How we do it at Print Wave

We confirm specs and check files before we start. If something is wrong or unclear, we stop and ask. We would rather delay than run a job we know will disappoint.
